Maybank Foundation Artist Fellowship Programme (MFAFP)
The Maybank Foundation Artist Fellowship Programme (MFAFP) is a celebration of artistic talent, cultural exchange, and creative transformation across ASEAN. This year, 11 exceptional emerging artists have come together to share their unique journeys and perspectives, reflecting the rich diversity of the region. The participants include Syamimi Razali and Lim Tong Xin (Malaysia), Gandhi Eka and Ryan Andrew (Indonesia), Noutnapha Soydala (Laos), Zaw Thu Rein Tun and Kyaw Min Htet (Myanmar), Rhaz Oriente, Orland Espinosa, and Roan Alvarez (Philippines), and Xuân-Hạ (Vietnam).
Their works, featured in the “Form Before Fusion” exhibition, highlight a dynamic interplay of heritage, individuality, and creative innovation. Through sustainable materials, mixed media, and immersive techniques, these artists have created pieces that not only captivate but also tell compelling stories of collaboration and cultural unity.

What is The Maybank Foundation Artist Fellowship Programme (MFAFP)?
The Maybank Artist Fellowship Programme (MFAFP) is dedicated to empowering emerging artists from the ASEAN region by providing mentorship, resources, and opportunities to showcase their work. The programme aims to elevate these artists onto the international art stage while nurturing them as socially conscious cultural ambassadors and thought leaders.
The inaugural MFAFP launched in November 2023 with an inspiring series of workshops in Bali, Indonesia, directed and curated by the esteemed Khai Hori. Through purposeful networking and interactive sessions led by global art mentors and peers, participating artists explored new artistic perspectives, techniques, and mediums, fostering their professional growth beyond their familiar creative boundaries.
